WE ARE CLOSED
On Wednesday 13th January 2021, the PCC for St Francis Church, Fixby and St Hilda’s Church Cowcliffe decided in the interests of Public Health to voluntarily close both Churches for public worship. This is for the foreseeable future (subject to Governmental review/advice about the 3rd lockdown)
Whilst we were confidant that our precautions were satisfactory for Covid 19, we noted the fact that the new variant is more virulent and the advice is that it is more easily transmittable. We were also aware of the age profile of the 2 congregations.
We will continue to pray for everyone affected globally and especially for our Cowcliffe & Fixby communities.
We shall however, continue to worship via technology and ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US
our services are:-
10.30am Sunday Service
11.00am Starting on Thursday 28th January we shall be holding a Holy Communion Service via Zoom ALTERNATE WEEKS ONLY. The Service will be recorded and put onto the Facebook page. Please contact Ian for the Zoom link to join the service but please only join if you are happy to appear on the Facebook page
Next service Thursday 25th February 2021
and you can read this week’s sermon here
The Bible Society’s “Bible Course” on Zoom.
From Wednesday 3rd February, we’ll be running the Bible Society’s “Bible Course” on Zoom at 1.30pm or 7.30pm. It’s an eight week overview of the whole Bible suitable for both those new to, or familiar with, the Bible. Each session includes film clips to watch, time for discussion, and passages to look at on your own each day between meetings. If you are interested, please contact our Vicar Revd. Ian Jamieson (e mail firstname.lastname@example.org Tel: 01484 427838) so he can send you the link to join the meetings and deliver a members booklets to you
At St Hilda’s Church we have 3 initiatives which are raising monies for our Building Fund. Whilst we now have enough monies to plaster and redecorate the Nave (see St Hilda’s Church in photographs page), repairs to the Vestry roof are becoming urgent (buckets & towels down when it rains!!) so we need to continue to raise funds for this repair – sometimes it feels like repainting the Forth Bridge!!
1. Jennifer continues to make face masks. They have a cotton front & back with flannel in the middle and they are available for a donation of £4 each. There are 2 sizes, large & small. Should you want any of the face masks, you can either visit Ma Baker’s sandwich shop on the Bradford Road near the Fartown traffic lights (open 0900 to 1200 Monday to Friday) or contact Colin on 07787 518483 and he will arrange a “safe distance” home delivery within the Fixby, Cowcliffe and Bradley areas.
2. Rita is making preserves (jams & jellies ++)
3. Joyce will undertake sewing alterations

Please take a glance at this site and see how you can become part of a dream – a dream to create a community, which seeks God, which is at ease with itself and which cares for its people and for others.
