St Hilda Cowcliffe – Serving the Community
St Hilda’s Church, throughout its life, has added value to the lives of the people of Cowcliffe and beyond. Our aim is to try to live out a ‘Christ Like’ life in care and service in our local community – but also being mindful of the needs of people in other countries. We hope we are keeping the Christian presence in our community alive and enjoy welcoming new members who want to join our journey of discovery.
Luncheon Club
The Luncheon Club held its annual Christmas Lunch on 14/12/22 and a good time was had by all. Roast turkey/pork dinner + all the trimmings was served by Dorothy & the Luncheon Club teams. It is a chance to thank EVERYONE who assists the Luncheon Club in any way

Our Luncheon Club started over 40 years ago and is a time of good food and good company.
A team of volunteers cook and serve the lunch, a 2 course, freshly cooked meal with tea/coffee for £5.00
The Luncheon Club enables elderly people who live alone in our community to eat a hot meal with company and make friends
Volunteer drivers are available if people cannot get the free Access bus. A man, who has enjoyed the lunch and company for many years said: ‘It is a pity it is only once a week.’ Yes, it is on Wednesdays – lunch will be served at 12.15pm. If you are above 65 or over, we will be pleased to welcome you to this very special ‘club’. Please call the organiser:

If you could help at Luncheon Club by driving, washing up, cooking – it would only be a once per month commitment – please contact Dorothy 01484 427981

Coffee mornings

A Coffee Morning is held from 10.00am to 11.30am on the first Saturday of each month. Not only does this provide an opportunity for fellowship especially with our friends who attended Cowcliffe Methodist (who are regular supporters) but the coffee mornings also raise money for the Church. Not to be missed is the Christmas Coffee Morning (1st Saturday in December 10.00am to 12 noon)
Cowcliffe Community Singers
The singers are a group of people who simply enjoy singing. They rehearse every Thursday (12.00 noon to 1.00pm) in Church and learn new songs or sing old ones. they perform concerts in Church for church funds which is MUCH appreciated and also perform father afield. Christmas always sees the singers performing in the Shepherd’s Arms and the Cowcliffe Liberal Club
New members are always welcome -no auditions are required – contact Dorothy Quinlan 01484 427981
