Stitch & Chat
The unique feature of this group is that it is not mandatory to stitch – chatting helps! So, if you have a few hours to spare, please drop in. You can either bring your own handicraft project, or help someone else with theirs.

Teddies for Tragedies

This year, 96 teddies have been knitted and a draw string bag made for each one ready to set off on their journey to Tanzania where they will be given to sick children or children who have suffered a trauma as a comforter. The majority of the teddies were knitted by Joyce Wild but she was ably assisted by members of Stitch & Chat

Book Club

If you enjoy reading books and talking about them – then don’t miss our Book Club. We meet once a month, for a chat about a book we have read during the previous month. In order to make it meaningful and interesting we have evolved a system whereby we take  turns to choose a book to read. This helps us to widen our choice of books and get some idea about what others are reading! It is always interesting to see what sort of books other people find interesting!
The discussions are certainly not high powered or intended for only the clever. This book club has been going for several years – that is the best testimony that it is interesting and rewarding.
We meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except December) at 2.00pm in church

28 March – The long call – Ann Cleeves

25 April – The cottage – Lisa Stone

23 May – The murders at Fleat House – Lucinda Riley

27 June – Death in the tunnel – Miles Burton

Ladies Dining Group

The Ladies Dining group meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm. Different restaurants are chosen to promote variety and therefore prices may vary. Lifts are available for non drivers. There is a solid nucleus of about 10 members but others dip in and out of the group which is fine. The next month’s venue is determined by members at the end of the evening with some venues being re visited because they have been excellent; some are never visited again!; some are chosen on the basis of reviews in the Examiner or by members’ personal recommendation.

If you would like to join the group on a regular or intermittent basis then contact Anne Hall on 01484 519879

The next Ladies Dining Group is on Tuesday 04/04/23 Venue tbc

Photographs of the Ladies Dining Group are around a table!
